Salt Lamp Care

We want your salt lamp to be worth every penny — and with proper care, it can last a lifetime. Please read the following important care instructions to ensure your lamp remains in excellent condition.

Our Himalayan salt lamps are intended for indoor use only. We do not recommend placing them in areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms or window sills, as excessive moisture can cause the lamp to sweat or leak.

It is advisable to place your lamp on a protective mat or plate to prevent any potential marking on your furniture. To gain the full benefits of the lamp, we recommend keeping it switched on while someone is at home, as the gentle warmth helps prevent moisture absorption from the air.

To clean your lamp, turn it off at the mains and unplug it. Allow it to cool completely, then gently wipe it with a slightly damp cloth to remove any dust or particles. Do not wash the lamp or use any cleaning agents, as this may damage the salt surface.

If the lamp becomes damp or starts to leak, place it in direct sunlight until fully dry. Once dry, wipe it gently with a soft cloth and switch it back on. If you plan to be away for an extended period, switch the lamp off, remove the power cord and bulb, and wrap the lamp tightly in cling film or a plastic bag to prevent moisture absorption.

Safety Notice: Salt lamps are electrical items and should never be used in or near water.

Bulb Replacement: To replace the bulb, ensure the lamp is turned off at the mains. Unscrew the fitting from the metal collar carefully — do not pull the cable. We recommend using a 15W E14 pygmy ‘oven’ bulb for optimal performance.
